Brampton, ON – October 6, 2025:
The City of Brampton is observing Fire Prevention Week from October 5 to 11, 2025, with a series of community events led by Brampton Fire and Emergency Services.
This year’s theme — “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home” — focuses on raising awareness about the safe use, charging, and disposal of lithium-ion batteries that power everyday devices.
Residents are encouraged to attend open houses at local fire stations, community displays, and public demonstrations running throughout October. Highlights include open houses at Stations 204, 207, 208, 212, and community outreach at multiple Home Depot locations and the Brampton Farmers’ Market.
Fire officials remind residents to buy certified products, avoid overcharging devices, and dispose of batteries responsibly. The campaign also reinforces year-round safety practices, including testing smoke alarms and creating family escape plans.
