Karandeep-Toronto — The Government of Ontario is temporarily extending alcohol service hours at licensed bars and restaurants across the province to 4 a.m., two hours later than the province's standard last call, for the duration of FIFA World Cup 2026, according to an official provincial release.
The extension applies from June 11 to July 19, 2026, and was introduced in partnership with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. Twenty-seven LCBO retail locations across the Greater Toronto Area and Ottawa will also see extended hours during the same period, open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
"Allowing restaurants and bars to stay open later means that fans can fully experience the energy, excitement and atmosphere of the tournament while supporting jobs, strengthening local businesses and driving economic growth across Ontario," said Attorney General Doug Downey in the province's announcement.
Toronto is hosting six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches at Toronto Stadium at Exhibition Place, part of the largest FIFA World Cup in tournament history, spanning 16 host cities across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
