Brampton Transit Bus Stabbing: Suspect Arrested and Charged by Peel Regional Police

Brampton, ON — October 6, 2025:
Investigators from Peel Regional Police’s 21 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have arrested and charged a Brampton man in connection with a violent stabbing that occurred aboard a Brampton Transit bus earlier this month.

According to police, on October 1, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., an altercation broke out between two men on a Brampton Transit bus near Bramalea Road and Bovaird Drive.
During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly produced an edged weapon and repeatedly stabbed the victim—a man in his 20s. The victim sustained multiple serious injuries but is expected to recover, as the wounds were determined not to be life-threatening. The suspect, who was not known to the victim, fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

Following a detailed investigation, police identified the suspect as Harpreet Singh, 31, of Brampton. On October 4, Singh was arrested and charged with several criminal offences, including, Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Breach of Court Order.

Police confirmed that Singh was already out on bail for unrelated charges at the time of the attack. He has been remanded in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Authorities have emphasized that the accused acted alone and that there are no ongoing threats to public safety arising from this incident.

Before the arrest, Peel Regional Police had released a public appeal for help identifying the suspect. At the time, he was described as South Asian, medium build, with a stubble beard and glasses, tattoos on his right forearm, and wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and a black Toronto Raptors hat. Police urged the public not to approach the suspect but to contact investigators immediately with any information.

Even though an arrest has been made, investigators are still encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the altercation or has additional information to come forward.
